Genesis10 is currently seeking a Java Engineer Cloud Native & Microservices with our client in the financial Industry located in Des Moines, IA. This is a 24+ month contract position. Responsibilities: Contribute to software engineering deliverables by participating in project planning, design, and execution of moderately complex software initiatives Develop and maintain Java-based microservices and applications using Spring Boot in a cloud-native environment Design and execute unit test cases and automated functional tests using BDD frameworks Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client personnel to ensure successful implementation of engineering solutions Work with container platforms such as OpenShift, Tanzu Application Service (TAS), Azure, GCP, or AWS Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka or related data streaming technologies Follow domain-driven design (DDD) principles for application architecture and development Perform logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing using tools such as Splunk and APM solutions Participate in decomposing monolithic applications into microservices Utilize AI and co-pilot development tools to enhance development efficiency Engage in Agile development practices including daily stand-ups, sprints, retrospectives, and sprint planning Required Qualifications: 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, consulting, training, military service, or education 5+ years of Java development experience 4+ years of experience writing Java unit test cases 4+ years of Spring Boot-based application development 2+ years of cloud-native application development (OpenShift, TAS, Azure, GCP, or AWS) 2+ years of experience with automated functional testing using BDD Hands-on experience with AI and co-pilot tools Experience with Angular or a related UI framework Experience with Oracle and MongoDB or another NoSQL database Proficiency in Kafka or other data streaming technologies Deep understanding of cloud-native microservices and event-driven architecture Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing Experience transitioning from monolith to microservices architecture Pay Range: $ 44 - 54 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
