We're looking to hire a talented Associate Application Engineer based in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Lab Application Engineer Supervisor, the Associate Application Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of technical welding and cutting solutions that fit the customer's needs and in turn lead to sales. The Associate Application Engineer will work with different departments including QA, R&D, and Product Development to ensure that ESAB Welding and Cutting Products remains a world leader in safety, innovation, efficiency, and quality. Primary Duties
- Support ESAB factories, i.e., Hanover, with the development and introduction of new products.
- Actively pursue ideas in developing market needs/ strategies and value-added activities.
- Support Sales Team in selling, demonstrating, and validating ESAB Solutions.
- This role would support activities in our Hanover laboratory working on productivity solutions and travelling to customers in North America.
- Assist with Automation installations at end-user facilities.
- Help develop and report solutions to customers' problems to maintain or acquire new sales.
- Assist in the design and development of welding applications and processes.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand welding project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct welding tests and experiments to evaluate materials and techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Support the integration of welding applications with existing manufacturing systems.
- Contribute to the documentation of welding procedures, techniques, and best practices.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of welding equipment and tools.
- Provide technical support and assistance to production teams and clients.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and discussions.
- Stay updated with the latest welding technologies and industry standards to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the development and execution of welding test plans to ensure process quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Welding or Metallurgical) or equivalent education/ experience, 1- 3 years' experience.
- Experience with inorganic analysis, specifically metals analysis, is strongly desired.
- Experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly desired.
- Strong experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, is a must.
- Experience with SAP, MS Access, and/or a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a plus.
- Experience in wet chemical analysis is a plus.
- Ability to organize and assume responsibility under minimum supervision.
- Ability to manage job and interpersonal relationships in a professional manner suitable for a supportive work environment.

- Ability to weld in all processes and positions at a certifiable level.
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
- Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
- Domestic travel required approximately 10 - 20%.
