Position Description

The Senior Manager of Business Development leads initiatives to drive growth in IT services by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, managing proposal efforts, and supporting the execution of corporate growth strategies. Acting as a deputy to the Head of Growth, this role collaborates across departments to align development efforts with company objectives and may contribute to strategic planning and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Strategy



  • Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on IT services such as cloud solutions, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise software development.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in both public and private sectors, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall company goals and strategies.


Deputy to Head of Growth



  • Act as Deputy to Head of Growth: Support the Head of Growth in the implementation and execution of strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for growth-related projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives and collaborating with other departments to drive successful outcomes.


Proposal Development



  • Lead the creation and submission of competitive proposals, RFP responses, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure all submissions meet client requirements, reflect the company's capabilities and differentiators, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver high-quality, aligned proposals.


Strategic Partnerships



  • Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships to expand service offerings and secure new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to leverage these partnerships effectively and ensure they align with broader business development strategies.


Client Relationship Management



  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, including government agencies, large enterprises, and technology partners.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for prospective clients during the sales process, collaborating with internal teams to ensure client needs are met and expectations are exceeded.


Market Intelligence & Reporting



  • Monitor industry trends, funding opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
  • Deliver regular updates and insights to leadership to guide strategic decisions.


Sales Pipeline Management



  • Own the sales pipeline for assigned opportunities, develop accurate sales forecasts, and provide regular updates to the leadership team on the status and progress of business development efforts, ensuring alignment with overall growth objectives.


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Work closely with internal teams, including solution architects, talent acquisition, human resources, contracts, and project management, to ensure alignment between business development efforts and project execution.
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs and maintain continuous communication across teams to drive successful project delivery.


Leadership



  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Growth staff or support team members, helping them develop their skills and grow within the company.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to promote professional development and ensure alignment with business development goals.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships-preferably within IT services or technology consulting.
  • Proven ability to win business in government contracting and private sectors.
  • Strong understanding of IT services, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with government procurement, RFPs, and contracting processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning.
  • Strong analytical, proposal writing, and market research capabilities.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $195,800 to $215,200 per year with a target rate of $205,000 benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
