Civil Designer III

Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are looking for a Civil Designer III to support our Transportation and Municipal Engineering Group in our Denver, CO office. Experience in site civil engineering, with an interest in water resource design, is desired. This position will bridge both Transportation and Water Resources focus areas. Qualified candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as the positions include interaction with both internal team members and external clients. In addition, candidates must be able to work both independently and, in a team, based environment and possess the ability to manage several major activities at once.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and lead engineering design tasks for transportation and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Prepare contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Prepare feasibility, safety, and geometric design studies; develop project reports.
• Plan and coordinate the technical aspects of assigned civil site projects.
• Serve as the project point of contact with clients, consultants, and contractors regarding work scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Engage in services related to water resources, transportation, structural, site, survey, and infrastructure & analytics.
• Lead the design of site, utility, and grading improvements for civil site development projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD or Microstation for designing and drafting project improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be a degreed Civil Engineer.
• 2-6 years of related experience in Transportation is required, interest in Water Resources desired.
• Experience with modeling/ design tools such as HEC-RAS, TR-20, and XPSWMM are preferred but not required.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred.
• Understanding of civil engineering technical design related to water resources, transportation, structural, or site development.
