Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Unit Admin/Specialist Casual for Learning Centers. Reporting directly to the Senior Program Coordinator of the LA Program, the Unit Admin for the LA Program will provide administrative support by onboarding employees, scheduling appointments, preparing payroll and other administrative duties.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Collects availability from peer leaders, track the status of the forms and communicate with peer leaders when follow-up is required.
- Assists the Sr. Program Coordinator in reviewing and improving LA Program Canvas site including accessibility compliance, site design, content creation, help to create asynchronous video Tutorials, and assist with recruitment and community building event. This position in in-person and needed to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Provides administrative support for the Learning Assistant Program by onboarding new employees, scheduling appointments, and preparing payroll, and other administrative tasks related to the program.
- Collaborates with the Sr. Program Coordinator of the LA Program in collecting availability from peer leaders and scheduling them appropriately for the coming Fall 2025 semester.
- Coordinates with the Sr. Program Coordinator in drafting, finalizing, and distributing availability forms to incoming peer leaders.
- Tracks availability form status and communicates with peer leaders regarding outstanding availability to ensure timely collection of completed forms.
- Assists Sr. Program Coordinator with drafting preliminary schedules for incoming peer leaders for the Fall 2025 semester.
- Tracks scheduling status, such as when schedules are ready to be drafted, are in progress, have been finalized, and are prepared to be distributed to assigned peer leaders.
- Helps Sr. Program Coordinator troubleshoot peer leader availability issues and make scheduling adjustments as necessary.
- Reviews and Improves LA Program Canvas site including accessibility compliance, site design, content creation.
- Creates asynchronous video tutorials to be posted on the Canvas site for incoming peer leaders. These tutorials will cover relevant topics such as navigating Canvas, entering timesheets, creating Absence & Coverage form entries, and other day-to-day tasks that peer leaders should be briefed on prior to starting their position in the Fall 2025 semester. Program recruitment and community building event planning.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Multiple years of experience working as a Learning Assistant (either consecutively or nonconsecutively).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as computer literacy with MS Office, particularly Excel and MS Forms.
