The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role will support the rapid generation of clinical and economic evidence by leveraging and developing strategic partnerships both locally and globally, assisting with projects by working collaboratively with, and work closely with Clinical Strategy, Clinical Affairs, Commercial and Regulatory stakeholders for the Advanced Wound Management business franchise. The MSL will provide scientific and clinical support to unsolicited HCP inquiries and provide scientific and clinical support to internal sales and market access teams.

What will you be doing?

  • Partner with Global and Regional Marketing, Global Clinical Strategy, Regulatory, Market Access and external partners, and support evidence strategies including but not limited to claims, publication strategy and conference submissions.

  • Support GCMA on new product development teams for the Advanced Wound Management Franchise by providing key customer insights into new products/evidence generation needs.

  • Support global evidence generation plans via close partnership with Global Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs and Evidence Evaluation to ensure robust and feasible plans are in place and to ensure timely execution for key products/technologies to meet business need.

  • Respond in timely manner to unsolicited requests for medical and scientific information from HCPs and internal partners.

  • Compliantly address off-label questions related to product use. Manage relationships with customer support lines, respond to escalated medical and scientific inquiries and update knowledge base documents on the regular basis.

  • Develop and deliver scientific and clinical presentations to support all wound management franchises/products.

  • Develop and conduct relevant clinical and scientific training for internal stakeholders. Represent Smith + Nephew at wound care meetings and exhibitions and gather intelligence on new research.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education:

    • Advanced degree (PhD, MS, RN) or C-NP in Science, Engineering or Medical required, ideally in a relevant discipline.

  • Experience:

    • 0 - 2years in Medical Science Liaison or Medical Affairs experience.

    • Experience in wound healing preferred.

    • Authorship in publications required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience in wound care field preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic team environment.

  • Peer reviewed publications preferred.

  • Previous experience with skin substitutes preferred.

  • Physical Demands: Large percentage of time performing computer-based work; close vision (clear at 20 inches or less) required to review documents and operate; computers, sitting for long periods of time, and walking through airports.

  • Travel Requirements: 10 - 20%

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $100,000.00- $120,000.00 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
