Adjunct Instructor, Dental Hygiene Clinical HV-ADJ-Clinical F25

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene, Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area to the Dental Hygiene Department with the attainment of a (relevant) Master's Degree within 5 years.

Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication and professional clinical experience are required to fulfill program goals.

The candidate must have previous college clinical and classroom teaching experience with emphasis in dental hygiene process of care, and nonsurgical periodontal therapy.

The candidate must be eligible for New York State Dental Hygiene licensure.

Must be currently certified in CPR for the healthcare provider.

Must be a current member of their professional Dental Hygiene Association and show evidence of participation in community service activities.

Experience and understanding of the Commission on Dental Accreditation Standards and the Accreditation process and evidence of original course documents.

Current certification in Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide Analgesia from New York State and professional development in teaching methodology for the adult learner is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Participation in all aspects of faculty calibration, curriculum management, development and accreditation self-study requirements and projects.
* Didactic instruction which may include courses in Preventive dentistry, Radiology, Clinical seminar and Clinical Courses.
* Coordinator for Preclinical and clinical courses.
* Participation and coordination of department academic/clinical retention and persistence programs.
* Participation in student advisement.
* Participation in department and college activities; special projects as assigned by the Department Chairperson including but not limited to Open House and Admissions Recruitment initiatives.
* Performs faculty duties as specified by the faculty collective Bargaining agreement.

The Salary is $1,1457.00 per contact hour.
