Quality Inspector Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of Quality Inspectors. Plans work for the group to respond to changing priorities. Maintains a safe, orderly and compliant work area according to company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Position requires solid technical skills related to the inspection of machined aerospace parts and assemblies.
Essential Functions

  • Supervise daily operations of the inspection team, ensuring quality and efficiency
  • Manage part flow through inspection to support production timelines
  • Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures and holds team accountable to same
  • Communicates professionally and appropriately to convey instructions, demonstrate procedures, and manage employee performance and behavior
  • Sets an example for integrity, communication, and compliance for others in the organization by following policies, communicating professionally, and providing timely responses to internal customers
  • Complies with manufacturing processes, quality standards & procedures, and leader instructions consistently and accepts responsibility for his/her actions and work product; conveys clear directions to employees, holds team accountable for actions and work product
  • Trains new employees and mentors' skill development during the introductory period for new hires; ensures initial training and periodic re-training for team members is completed as expected
  • Act as technical expert and resource for troubleshooting and process improvement
  • Analyze data to monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Interviews applicants and selects qualified personnel for available roles on the team; complies with regulations and internal processes for recruiting, selection, and recordkeeping
  • Drives motor vehicle as required
  • Perform additional duties as needed



Required Education and Work Experience


  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in aerospace manufacturing or the inspection of aerospace machined parts is required
  • Supervisory experience is required; "lead" experience and advanced supervisory training may be considered in lieu of direct supervision experience


Other Required Skills and Abilities


  • Valid Driver's license and acceptable safe driving record to meet insurance requirements
  • Comprehension of the AS9100 Quality System is required
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to handle unexpected challenges appropriately
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing employee and company records, and demonstrating integrity in communications and actions


Physical Demands and Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:


  • Frequently walk, stand, sit for extended periods, bend, climb, kneel, and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools, computer keyboards, and measurement instruments


Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:


  • Moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
  • Dust, smoke, fumes, and vapors (PPE such as masks or respirators may be needed).
  • Extreme hot or cold temperatures (occasionally).
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment


The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required
