Position Purpose:

The incumbent is responsible for performing pulmonary function tests, which it's sub-components are- spirometry, DLCO, lung volume measurements, airway resistance- using plethysmography, MVV, occasionally FRC and MIP/MEP testing. 6 MWT tests, responsible for the daily calibration of the PFT equipment.

Nature and Scope:
|
Pulmonary Function Test Specialists (PFT): are accountable and responsible for the performance of pulmonary function examinations. The Pulmonary Function Test Specialists are required to function as a professional resource person to pulmonary physicians, physicians in training, other medical staff, management, and nursing, regarding the performance, documentation, and interpretation of pulmonary function testing. This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
|
Education:
|
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. High School or GED.
|
Experience:
|
Previous experience in Pulmonary Function preferred, but not required.
|
License(s):
|
|
Certification(s):
|
Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred. Registered Pulmonary Function Technician preferred, maintain a current BLS card.
|
Computer / Typing:
|
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
|
