Coordinator of Student Accessibility and Support, Office of Accessibility Services - Georgetown University Law Center Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation's capital. Requirements The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) works in partnership with Law Center faculty, staff, and students to promote environments that are accessible, sustainable, and inclusive by determining and implementing reasonable accommodations to remove access barriers for students with disabilities in curricular and co-curricular environments and implementing approved academic adjustments (e.g. exam modifications) for pregnant/parenting students and/or students navigating temporary medical conditions. They work in partnership by sharing resources with students with disabilities requesting MPRE and/or Bar Exam accommodations and promoting Universal Design for Learning through collaboration with faculty and staff across the Law Center. OAS is responsible for ensuring that students with disabilities are granted reasonable accommodations in accordance with the ADA, Section 504, and University policy. As part of the Center for Wellness Promotion, OAS also contributes to the development and promotion of student wellbeing initiatives. Under the direct supervision of the Director, the Coordinator of Student Accessibility and Support will assist with the following:
The Office of the Dean of Students is responsible for a range of student affairs and student support functions, including OAS. Under dotted-line supervision of the Dean of Students, the Coordinator of Student Accessibility and Support will help:
Work Interactions In their work with OAS, the Student Accessibility Coordinator will regularly consult with the OAS team to implement accommodations or modifications approved by the Associate Director of OAS, Assistant Director of OAS, or the Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The Student Accessibility Coordinator will interact with other departments on campus (e.g. Office of the Registrar, Facilities, Information Systems Technology) in order to implement accommodations. The Student Accessibility Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating with outside vendors who provide services for blind, deaf and other accommodated students. This will include scheduling and coordinating implementation of ASL Interpreters and CART Writers. The Student Accessibility Coordinator will also work directly with students by responding to requests for letters verifying accommodations approved by OAS. In their work supporting OAS/ODOS wellness programming, the Student Accessibility Coordinator will assist in planning and implementing the department's wellness programming for all law students, including Law Student Mental Health Day, Lawyers in Balance, and other well-being initiatives. This will involve close collaboration with campus partners including but not limited to the Lawyers in Balance administrative team, the Office of Student Life, and colleagues from Georgetown's Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS). In their work supporting the Office of the Dean of Students's case management function, the Coordinator will work closely with the Dean of Students, the ODOS Business and Operations Manager, and staff in partner offices including Office of Academic Affairs, Office of the Registrar, Student Outreach and Support (SOS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) to ensure student cases and requests are timely tracked, documented, managed and resolved. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $41,926.00 - $65,090.00 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
