Day Camp Counselor-Seattle Temple Day Summer Day Camp (seasonal, full-time, hourly) The Counselor would provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers to have fun social experiences. The job requires leading activities such as arts and crafts and encouraging children to come up with ideas that support their interests. We will go on 1 field trip per week, and also walk to the nearby park almost everyday. To provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers Instruction and facilitation (or assist with) of indoor and outdoor activities on campus Oversee the health and safety of campers Utilize approved safety practices Provide appropriate First Aid and submit written reports to the Health Supervisor Create and supervise an emotionally healthy environment for campers as a camp counselor Complete designated paperwork, reports, etc., as a camp counselor Organize classroom setting Preparation before and after kids arrive. Qualifications: 18 years or older Child Care/Camp Counseling/ Teaching experience Ability to pass a background check First Aid/CPR certification Able to develop positive rapport with campers Excellent communication skills Reliability Childcare: 1 year (Preferred) First Aid Certification (Preferred) CPR Certification Location: One location "The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required.
