Nursing Assistant Unit Director Adult Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Unit Full Time 84779BR Job Summary The Assistant Unit Director supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care to patients undergoing treatment for hematological and oncological diagnoses. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources on a 24-hour basis. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $221,500 - $241,800 (Annual Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Department Description The 66-bed Adult Hematology / Oncology / Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) / Cellular Therapy Unit is a fast-paced, highly specialized unit located on the eleventh floor of the of Long Hospital and the twelfth floor if the hospital. Staff provide exceptional patient centered care to acutely and chronically ill adults with complex hematological and oncological diagnoses. Nurses are highly trained to provide multiple treatment modalities, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, peripheral blood/bone marrow transplants, and cellular immunotherapy. The staff excels in symptom management and provides compassionate care to patients throughout the various stages of their treatment and recovery. Nurses are also trained to support Phase I-III clinical research activities on the unit to further develop cutting edge treatment and care. Professional development of the staff is supported through participation in classes, seminars, and conferences as well as unit councils, quality improvement projects, and community activities.
