The Opportunity We are seeking a Public Relations Coordinator to join our Firm. This position will be based in our New York office (hybrid). Within this position, you will support the Firm's public relations group on various public relations initiatives by monitoring the media for trends and topics of interest to our attorneys, searching for and circulating Firm-related media coverage, seeking publishing opportunities for attorney-authored articles and client alerts, assisting with certain awards submissions and handling research projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compiles and circulates press coverage of the Firm and monitors media for relevant trends and topics of interest to attorneys.
- Assists with review of the daily media sweep of Firm mentions in the press.
- Conducts research on media outlets and reporters and generates preparatory documents in connection with press interviews.
- Develops and maintains media lists for use in targeted pitches and general outreach concerning Firm matters and initiatives.
- Handles certain media-facing activities and interactions, as appropriate.
- Handles the coordination of attorney-authored article placements, including bylined article contributions as well as republishing of Firm client alerts.
- Maintains list of author guidelines for target publications and conducts research to identify new potential media outlets that accept contributed articles.
- Coordinates with attorneys and publications in connection with contracts related to publishing rights.
- Compiles client-, competitor-, and topic-specific media analysis and handles other research projects.
- Assists with tracking and analyzing reporter interactions between attorneys and the public relations team.
- Oversees editorial calendar opportunities and assists with tracking of media-related activities.
- Assists with writing award submissions, as needed.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
- Manages Firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills, including interacting effectively and appropriately with reporters, attorneys, senior administrative staff and peers
- Extremely strong administrative skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Very strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent drafting, editing and proofreading skills
- Organizes/prioritizes work
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of two years of PR/media relations experience or related
