Summer Student

Position Description:

The Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship - Summer Program provides students with a challenging and rewarding experience that exposes them to the opportunities within the medical science of anesthesiology.

Under direct supervision, provide support to ongoing clinical or basic sciece research projects. This position is a limited term summer assignment.

Primary Functions

• Medical Students who participate in the summer anesthesia research fellowship can expect:
  * A dedicated mentor who will provide guidance and training in research techniques and scientific methods
  * Eight-weeks of focused research related to anesthesiology
  * Opportunities to learn about the clinical practice of anesthesiology
  * The opportunity to make a scientific presentation at the American Society of Anesthesiologists' annual meeting

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills, communication skills, and organizational skills.

Medical student enrolled full-time at a U.S.-based medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
