Description
The Department of Medicine is seeking to hire a Senior Research Analyst to lead efforts in database development, data management, and statistical analysis for clinical and global health research studies. This role is responsible for constructing and maintaining study databases, ensuring data integrity, and performing complex statistical analyses.In addition to data-centered responsibilities, the analyst will actively contribute to global health and equity research. This includes participation in finalizing, writing, and submitting publications such as the Lancet Commission on Cancer and Health Systems and the Lancet Commission on Gender-Based Violence and Maltreatment of Young People, along with other ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will also propose, develop, and execute original research papers on topics including gender-based violence, health systems strengthening, health financing, women and health, and poverty.The Senior Research Analyst will identify and pursue funding opportunities from government agencies, private donors, foundations, and internal university sources. This includes grant writing, proposal development, submission, and post-award grant management and reporting. The role also involves working with the Principal Investigator (PI) on strategic initiatives, including the preparation and presentation of a business plan for a proposed center or institute focused on global development and health.Additionally, the Analyst will support educational and mentorship activities by helping adapt and implement a cross-campus global health course (joint graduate and undergraduate), and by assisting the PI in mentoring students, fellows, and early career researchers across UCLA. Annual range: $83,800-$179,400 Qualifications
