Acara solutions is looking for a Senior Buyer to work for our partner located in Phoenix, AZ who specializes in Manufacturing. Here's what you'll get:
Pay: $40-45/hr
Hours: 8am-5pm
Duration: Contract (potential to convert full-time) Here's what you'd do:
Responsible for overseeing the purchasing of materials and/or services to support Boyd Phoenix site.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Responsible for source selection and procurement functions associated with Boyd Phoenix's needs for indirect material and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services in a cost quality and delivery competitive levels consistent with Boyd Phoenix's policy and performance standards.
- 5+ years of completing the timely planning, scheduling of receipt, and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with Manufacturing, Accounting and Production Information Control System (Oracle) requirements or as appropriately concluded with a Requisitioner.
- Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required; and provide close coordination with tool stores and plant engineering to assure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
- 5+ years of securing and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with supplier; and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
- Study market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities and advises Boyd Phoenix activities with concurrence of Management.
- Interview and confer with current and prospective Suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, and negotiate price and delivery terms with guidance from Management for assigned responsibilities.
- Coordinate the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with Oracle requirements or as arranged with the Requisitioner.
- Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between Boyd Phoenix activities and Suppliers as appropriate. Drawing and/or Rev changes.
- As directed by Management, organize and implement strategies to accomplish Small Business and Disadvantage Business Sourcing Programs consistent with Boyd Phoenix guidelines.
- Visit Suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems.
- 5+ years of knowledge, understanding, compliance, and enforcement of all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
- 5+ years of knowledge, understanding, and compliance with Customer and Boyd Phoenix standards, policies, and procedures.
- 5+ years of knowledge, understanding and compliance with government audit requirements. Supplier surveys, On time delivery reporting, vendor quality reporting, vendor visits, and approved supplier list.
- High school diploma OR GED
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Business Administration, Economics, and/or Engineering or equivalent in relevant work experience preferred
- 5+ years of progressively responsible Purchasing and Material Control experience in a manufacturing environment experience required
- 5+ years of knowledge of Purchasing and Accounting practices required
- Due to federal contract obligations, must be a USA citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
Proficient personal computer skills, including mainframe operations as relates to procurement, related software, Excel, and Microsoft Office. Experience with current technology/software systems used in purchasing operations required (Material Requirements (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
