Overview

The Tax Manager, a key member of the accounting department, will ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and contribute to AIT's goal of maintaining financial accuracy within the organization. This teammate will also oversee our relationship with our external tax consultants on all tax-related functions, including filing tax returns, advising the leadership team and managing tax audits.


Responsibilities

    Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness throughout the organization, providing training and support as needed.
  • Develop and maintain global tax plans, compliance procedures and risk assessment frameworks, to ensure effective tax management.
  • Collaborate with global finance and accounting teams to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately per national tax compliances.
  • Partner with Global Accounting and Finance departments with the proper setup and governance of the general ledger account structure related to tax accounts.
  • Support AIT's development into a global organization by ensuring tax compliance on global initiatives.
  • Identify, track and report any potential financial risks or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage tax audits, reporting, personal property tax and other filings, inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions and other tax-related activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with 3rd party tax advisors on tax provision calculation, federal and state income tax return, transfer price reports and federal and state payments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • The wage range for this position is $106,900.00-$154,000.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience


Qualifications

Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field (Required)
* Master's Degree (Preferred)

Experience
* 5+ years of experience working in the accounting or audit department of a mid to large-sized company or audit firm (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Self-motivated and a critical thinker. High
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills. High
* Contribute to a collaborative and friendly culture with a positive attitude and a professional demeanor. High
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel. High
* Researching technical tax accounting topics High
* Experience working with auditors. High
* A strong understanding of international tax. High
* CargoWise or OneStream experience a plus. Medium

Licenses and Certifications
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - (Required)
