Overview / Job Summary:

The Faculty in Biology will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction that enhances students' understanding of biological systems. This role will involve both classroom and laboratory instruction, underlining the integration of theoretical concepts and practical applications in the biological sciences.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining course syllabi, ensuring alignment with course objectives and outcomes.
  • Delivering engaging and effective instruction in Anatomy & Physiology and Biology, utilizing current teaching methodologies.
  • WOrking with a high school-aged population taking college-level courses.
  • Developing, assessing, and refining course materials to enhance student learning and meet accreditation standards.
  • Maintaining office hours for student support and engagement outside of the classroom.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the continual assessment and improvement of the curriculum.
  • Working in a team environment that includes high school and college administration.

This position emphasizes a student-centered approach to teaching, integrating diverse learning opportunities in the field of anatomy and physiology.

Requirements

Education:

  • Master's Degree required in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or related field. A Master's degree with 18 graduate credits in the specified discipline will also meet the requirement.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Teaching experience in higher education preferred, particularly in Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Experience in high school education is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills including strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and educational software applications.
