We're looking for a Beverage Designer to join our RE-MASTER Citrus team at the newly inaugurated Citrus Innovation Center in Lakeland, Florida.

Combining future trends analysis, consumer insights, and a modernized cross-category development process, these programs guide the Company's research and development efforts to ensure a robust innovation pipeline.
Your Focus As a Beverage Designer Trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced beverage designers to develop fundamental design skills and technical knowledge specific to the Citrus Category. With a passion for exploring new beverages, you will assist our creative teams in enhancing their existing product line and successfully launching new products in the marketplace. This is an exciting opportunity for a beginner looking to advance their career with one of the largest and most innovative flavor creation houses in the world. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills. Responsibilities:
- Learning and Development: Develop fundamental design skills and technical knowledge specific to the Citrus category under the guidance of senior designers.
- Portfolio Understanding: Gain comprehensive knowledge of the portfolio, including functionality, taste identification, ingredient interactions, and limitations.
- Laboratory Skills: Learn to operate and maintain laboratory and pilot equipment safely and effectively.
- Ingredient Exploration: Investigate new ingredients and technologies, understanding their performance in various products and solutions.
- Business Acumen: Broaden understanding of other business functions such as Production, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing, and Product Experience (PX).
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrate proactive learning and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Safety Compliance: Observe laboratory and food safety rules and GMPs.
- Interdepartmental Interface: Interface with R&D and other IFF departments as necessary for completion of job tasks.
- Laboratory Processes: Perform basic to advanced laboratory processes required for preparation of intermediates and finished flavors.
- Product Evaluations: Set up and participate in tasting and product evaluations.
- Stability Tests: Set up and run product stability tests.
- Customer Support: Support customer visits and interact with sales/customers during project execution.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all activities align with IFF policies, Global Innovation Rules, and safety, hygiene, and efficient day-to-day operations of the flavor creation laboratory and facilities. Commitment to all company policies, rules, regulations, and IFF quality is essential.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or Food Engineering/Technology.
- Entry-level position, preferably with 0-1 years of internship experience in a similar role within the beverage industry, coupled with a strong desire and ability to continue education and professional development.
- Must pass IFF's internal Sensory Assessment.
- Experience in a flavor lab or beverage/food product development lab is considered a plus.
- Drive for results, taking ownership, and not afraid to go the "extra mile."
- Strong computer skills, including SAP, Microsoft Office, and other IFF systems as introduced and required.
- Strong practical math skills (e.g., calculating and preparing dilutions of flavoring materials, flavor creations, and applications).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact productively on an internal/external basis. Additional languages desirable.
- Ability to taste and discriminate sensory properties of flavors and applications.
- Well-organized self-starter with a desire to develop new skills.
- Good prioritization, planning, time management, and organizing skills.
- Familiarity with food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation, and production processes.
