The Residence Life Community Standards and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing the residential student conduct process, educating residential students regarding their rights and responsibilities in eth Code of Conduct (CoC) and On Campus Living Guide (
OCLG) to be responsible students and campus community members and training and supporting para and professional Residence Life staff. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that the Office of Housing and Residence Life (
OHRL) is in compliance with required practices and procedures such as
ADA. The position will work closely with the Director for Residence Life and Housing Experiences, consulting as needed with the Dean of Students Office and informing students at University procedures and policies as they have questions.
The position is responsible for managing the on-campus student conduct and compliance portfolio, ensuring that all cases follow all correct procedures, timelines and policies, and to work with various university and campus communities to ensure that residential policies and practices are updated based on current University standards, as well as state and federal laws. The Residence Life Community Standards and Compliance Coordinator will oversee the disciplinary process and is responsible for delegating case to appointed conduct officers, investigating violations, meeting with students and witnesses, conducting and scheduling hearings and appeals, issuing sanctions and issuing appeals decisions for conduct offenses. The
Residence Life Community Standards and Compliance Coordinator will consult with the Director for Residence Life & Housing Experience to provide information for them to review the final appeal, decide, and communicate to all involved parties. This position will work closely with residence life staff to ensure that all on-campus students understand their rights and responsibilities and know the standards required to be a successful community member. The Residence Life Community Standards and Compliance Coordinator serves as the primary contact for student conduct and compliance initiatives and participates in University and Residence Life functions, such as orientation, move-in and move-out, housing lottery, RA selection and training, etc.
This position is integral to creating an equitable, just, and welcoming residential student experience for current and potential students at Rutgers University-Camden. The position will participate in the on-call rotation to ensure smooth operations and support students during emergent situations and supervise student staff members in handling emergency matters occurring in the residence halls.
This is a live-in required position. |

Minimum Education and Experience |
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and or experience, plus two years of relevant experience in higher education student service position and knowledge of academic programs. |

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and or experience, plus two years of relevant experience in higher education student service position and knowledge of academic programs. Working knowledge of student development theories and practices required. Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, and make decisions quickly with accuracy and quality. Ability to work well with diverse student populations, as well as with parents, faculty members, and staff. Ability to solve problems and organize complicated educational tasks. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as writing skills are required. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Masters in higher education administration, counseling, student personnel, or social work preferred. Experience in higher education housing and residential student conduct preferred. Experience in utilizing conflict resolution and restorative practice as a part of the student experience. Prior knowledge of Maxient conduct software. |
