Reappointment is contingent upon performance review and continued budgetary support. The successful candidate will teach elementary Italian language (currently six courses per year on the quarter system). Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching Italian at the undergraduate level, familiarity with SLA and foreign language pedagogy, and the ability to contribute actively to the curricular goals of a small but vibrant department. An M.A. is required and Ph.D. preferred. We particularly welcome candidates with demonstrated interest in improving access to the study of Italian for marginalized students and who bring passion and creativity to the teaching of elementary Italian.
