The Opportunity

  • Foodservice Category Manager at a growth-oriented energy company

  • Reporting to the Director of Foodservice and other team members to ensure successful execution and profitability of our programs

Key activities include

  • Innovation: Assist in introducing profitable foodservice programs using the 'one-some-many' test and learn process. Support the balance of traditional convenience foodservice with innovative risk-taking initiatives.
  • Team and Cross Functional Collaboration: Work with Operations, Marketing, and other stakeholders to enhance in-store performance and achieve goals and objectives. Work with IT, analytics, Price Book, and accounting teams to support program changes and manage rebate accruals.
  • Operational Management: Lead and assist in the creation of foodservice implementation plans, tools, instructional content, and planograms.
  • Supplier Relations: Support the management of foodservice supplier rebates and vendor contracts.
  • Financial Support: Assist in developing, tracking, and communicating foodservice metrics and KPI's. Participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Performance Monitoring: Support Foodservice performance management, packaging, supplies, cost of goods, retail pricing, and waste to ensure profitability.
  • Engage and Adapt: Gather and incorporate feedback from employees and customers, staying in tune with local preferences and market conditions.
  • Food Safety: Implement food safety protocols for stores to follow; and where it is necessary, develop protocols to support changing product assortments. Partner with local agencies to ensure adherence to local requirements.

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in convenience store, grocery, QSR or retail foodservice programs required
  • Foodservice safety certification required
  • Understanding of convenience store operations and regional customer tastes
  • Proven history of supporting sales and profitability growth
  • Knowledge of product selection, placement, purchasing, inventory management, pricing, and promotions
  • Knowledge and proficiency in PDI a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and work in stores for a minimum of 4 full days per year

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $97,189 to $145,784, plus non-discretionary/discretionary bonus.The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
