The Human Resources Manager for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott Campus (with over 600 full-time faculty and staff and over 3,200 students) serves as a key strategic partner and operational leader, guiding the campus' human resources functions in alignment with university-wide priorities and the institution's commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, HR, and collaborating closely with the Prescott Chancellor and campus leadership, this role provides high-level strategic HR consultation while ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day HR operations.

The HR Manager is instrumental in shaping a positive and inclusive workplace culture through proactive employee relations, talent acquisition, engagement initiatives, and performance management. The position also leads efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and fosters continuous improvement in HR practices and service delivery. With direct supervision of the Prescott HR team, the Manager promotes a collaborative, service-oriented, and high-performing environment. This role requires a strong emphasis on relationship building, leadership development, and change management as it takes on a consultative role for the campus community.

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as a key HR advisor to the Prescott Chancellor and campus leadership including college deans, department chairs, and directors, aligning HR strategies with institutional priorities.
  • Oversee the work of the Prescott Senior HR Partner, and Student Employment Coordinator to ensure recruitment, employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and performance management strategies are being implemented as expected.
  • Provide strategic input and partnership on organizational design, workforce planning, and culture-building initiatives.

Employee Relations & Training

  • Work with the Employee Relations Manager and Executive Director on all aspects of employee relations including:
  • Performance management, improvement plans and coaching
  • Job descriptions, reclassifications, promotions, and developmental planning
  • Corrective action and disciplinary processes
  • Develop and implement retention strategies based on feedback received and analysis of surveys and exit interviews. Assist with conducting, reviewing and analyzing 30 and 90-day surveys, Altitude Checks (stay interviews) and exit interviews
  • Ensure HR practices comply with Arizona employment regulations and university policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver training, in coordination with Learning and Development team, for supervisors and staff on key HR topics such as performance development, employee conduct, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by evaluating and refining campus HR processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the engagement efforts for the Prescott campus which are supported primarily by the Sr. HR Partner and Employee Engagement Coordinators at our Daytona Beach campus.

Recruitment & Talent Strategy

  • Support the team with needs related to Prescott recruitment efforts for staff, faculty, and administrative roles on the Prescott campus
  • Support succession planning efforts by identifying talent needs and facilitating leadership development opportunities.
  • Spearhead change management strategies as ERAU Prescott enters its growth phase and path to 5,000 students.

Team & Project Management

Manage Prescott campus HR staff, including:

  • Delegating and overseeing tasks and projects
  • Conducting performance evaluations and delivering constructive feedback
  • Supporting team members' professional development and training needs
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of HR to ensure effective communication and alignment with university-wide HR strategies.
  • Represent Prescott HR in institutional meetings and contribute to system-wide initiatives and working groups.

The range for this position is $90,000-$110,000

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree. Area of Concentration: Psychology, Business or HR Management

Required licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:

  • HR Certification

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

MS Office, AI, communication (written and oral), flexibility, ability to change course on moment's notice, prioritization in busy, small office

Required minimum number of years work related experience: 5-10 in Human Resources.
