Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The School teaches approximately 600 PharmD students and 145 graduate students. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training programs, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students. Position Summary
The Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Community-based Veterinary Pharmacy Residency Program will prepare the resident to be an innovative clinical practitioner who can be a leader in the profession. The resident will have the skills, confidence, and experience to create change and advance patient care services in community-based (outpatient) settings. The resident will explore current practices, procedures and resources within community-
based veterinary pharmacy. This position will conduct research and provide innovative solutions for areas of improvement. This position will partner with student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacists, as well as other health care professionals, to initiate new programs and to expand existing services; and provide fresh perspectives and insights that will directly influence patient outcomes.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Doctor of pharmacy degree and must be eligible for North Carolina pharmacist licensure

In order to be considered for this position, the candidate must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The candidate should also be eligible for licensure in the state of North Carolina.
