Description

Dunwoody College of Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Program Specialist to support the daily operations and long-term initiatives of the Office of Instruction and the Arts, Humanities, Communications, and Social Sciences (AHCS) programs.

In this role you will work directly with faculty, directors, and the Dean of Instruction to implement academic programming, coordinate events, manage partnerships, and streamline administrative processes. This is a dynamic position that requires high-level organizational, communication, and project management skills. You'll be at the center of many moving parts-connecting people, programs, and purpose across the college.



What You'll Get to Do:

Academic & Faculty Support:




  • Maintain consistent communication with AHCS faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure smooth academic operations.



  • Monitor and support faculty outreach regarding student academic performance, attendance, accommodations, and other success indicators.



  • Assist with curriculum and academic planning, including class schedules, room assignments, and support for new program development.



  • Train faculty on essential systems such as Canvas, syllabus tools, and learning outcomes updates.




Operations & Administration:




  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Dean and department directors, including scheduling, travel coordination, expense reports, and presentation development.



  • Prepare office correspondence, maintain confidential records, and support departmental compliance with accreditation guidelines (HLC, AAC&U, MOHE).



  • Manage database systems for student records, faculty needs, external partnerships, and office documentation.



  • Lead initiatives to maintain and organize the art studio space, student workers, memberships, and annual reporting requirements.




Events & Outreach:




  • Coordinate major events such as expos, lecture series, and conferences for the Office of Instruction.



  • Support recruitment and marketing efforts for AHCS programs, including internal and external communications.



  • Facilitate collaboration with external stakeholders and maintain strategic partnership records.




Reporting & Systems:




  • Generate reports and analyze data to inform department initiatives.



  • Maintain department SharePoint and digital file systems.



  • Contribute to budget preparation and fiscal tracking.





What You Bring:


  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect across departments and stakeholder groups.



  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and willingness to learn systems like SharePoint, Salesforce, Canvas, and internal databases.



  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.



  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.



  • Flexibility and independence in problem-solving and project execution.



  • Experience in higher education or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week in person or remote.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint.
  • Autonomy and self-direction.
  • Higher Education Experience preferred.
