University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Solid Organ Transplant Surgery practice in Minneapolis.

Job Description

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a team-oriented Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Solid Organ Transplant team in Minneapolis, MN. The University of Minnesota is home to one of the oldest and most successful solid-organ transplant programs in the world.

In this role, you will:

  • Care directly for specialty patients in the inpatient setting as a member of a supportive group of Solid Organ Transplant APPs.
  • In collaboration with the attending physician, fellow, and interdisciplinary team, formulate and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide medical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients and families within a multidisciplinary framework on an inpatient basis.
  • Perform minor procedures within their scope.

Schedule:

  • 3 x (10) hour days with a weekend rotation every 7 weeks.
  • 0.75 FTE (30 hours/week).
  • Monday - Friday, three 10-hour shifts per week with staggered start times.
  • Weekend shifts are required, every 7th weekend. Will receive equivalent time off during the week. No night call.

Position Qualifications:

  • A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current MN Nurse Practitioner or Physicians' Assistant licensure or meets all criteria and is eligible for MN licensure.
  • Current DEA registration or eligible for DEA registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the care of complex, hospitalized patients.
  • Experience in the care of post-surgical patients.
  • Critical care background or experience in the management of unstable patients.
  • New graduates with significant inpatient experience will be considered.

The full-time salary range is $128,259 - $158,160 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
