Position Description

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Recruiting communications: Assist with corresponding with recruits through different communication mechanisms (e.g., email).
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities associated with the University's on-campus recruiting program.
  • Manage the recruiting database, ensuring all information is correct and current.
  • Prepare and maintain itineraries for official and unofficial visits.
  • Collaborate with university personnel involved in prospective student-athlete visits.
  • Assigns tasks and coordinates efforts of campus ambassadors and student assistants associated with football.
  • Assist in planning and organizing game-day visits, unofficial visits, junior-day visits, and other recruiting events for prospective student-athletes.
  • Help develop relationships with prospective student-athletes and those that affect the decision-making process, including parents, family, and coaches.
  • Assist the Director of On-Campus Recruiting with organizing and executing all aspects of official and unofficial visits, including travel accommodations, meals, meetings, and tours.
  • Assist the Football Chief of Staff with travel, scheduling communication, and special projects affiliated with the Football program.
  • Assist with coordinating coaches' travel arrangements (flights, rental cars, hotels).
  • Assist with PCard reconciliation.
  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for the required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1-3 years of previous intercollegiate on-campus recruiting experience.
  • Substantial experience with and knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
