Apply Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, California USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Staff Perfusionist II. The Staff Perfusionist II will provide all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult and pediatric patients, operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation necessary to support or replace a patients own cardiopulmonary and circulatory functions and Induce and reverse hypothermia and hyperthermia. The Staff Perfusionist II will also write, collect, and maintain documentation for each case, and ensure maintenance of all equipment and quality control. The hourly rate range for this position is $83.37 - $89.00. Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training Minimum Experience: 3 years Addtional Experience Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum work experience Minimum Skills: Three years' experience as an adult perfusionist, with some experience as a pediatric perfusionist. Graduate from school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or its predecessor, the American Medical Association's (AMA) Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA). Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses, and maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), and/or basic cardio life support (BCLS). Demonstrated attention to details, and excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree Preferred Experience: 3 years Preferred Skills: Bachelor's degree in perfusion science, organic chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, or related field of study. Previous experience in an academic medical environment. Demonstrated experience in crisis situations. Membership in relevant professional organizations. Fluency in Spanish, American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other languages in addition to English.
