ROLE SUMMARY
Under general supervision the Senior Assembly Technician (Aerospace) will perform testing /assembly/sub-assembly or prepping of components parts into precision aircraft assemblies. This is a non-exempt position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs complex hydraulic, mechanical, electromechanical assembly operations
* Disassembles and replaces parts as required per work instructions or overhaul manual
and proper functioning of complex equipment, products and assemblies
* Set up and test production and overhaul assemblies in accordance with drawing requirements, customer specifications or direction from the engineering department
* Confers with technical personnel to resolve problems related to performance conditions or tests
* Coordinates and participates in the installation of a unit or system to be tested, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls, cabling, tubing, power sources and indicating instruments
* Isolate and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures and takes required corrective action
* Work with Engineering to setup and run testing of assemblies for new development assemblies, and recommend changes to test procedures as required
* Conducts performance test activities at the system or component level to ensure accuracy
* Maintains test equipment and fixtures
* Performs in process quality inspection for workmanship, safety, documentation and system compliance
* Operates a variety of testing equipment and fixtures including leak check equipment,
meters, gauges, pumps, oscilloscopes, dielectric analyzer
* Contributes to the design and manufacture of products, tooling, test set-ups, etc.
* Equipment operation including but not limited to manual and hydraulic presses, hydraulic test stands along with nitrogen servicing equipment
* Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to all safety procedures during all aspects of job performance which includes regular exposure to personal and physical hazards.
* Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments.
* Read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, government specs and procedure manual.
* Must be able to work Overtime as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* 7+ years manufacturing, assembly or test experience with at least 4 years in the aerospace industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. outside weather conditions, machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
