Seneca Foods Corporation has a career opportunity available at our Glencoe facility for an entry level Cost Accountant. We are looking for a qualified individual to demonstrate their ability to learn and grow with our Glencoe processing facility.



COST ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

* Accounts Payable & Receiving

* Operational Tracking & Reporting

* Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

* Development and maintenance of standard costs

* Assist in the quarterly forecasting and bi-annual budgeting processes

* AG & Grower Accounting

* Assist Plant Controller on:

o Costing and Analysis Projects

o Raw Product Scale Support

o Payroll

o On-Boarding of Seasonal Staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior work experience is not required but preferred in Accounting or Inventory. Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field desired:

* Demonstrated general knowledge of financial accounting procedures is required.

* Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word skills

* Must possess exceptional thoughtful and analytical skills, diligent with high attention to detail.

* Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, well organized.

* Agile and open to change.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

* Ability to work independently, effectively handle multiple competing priorities and manage deadlines under pressure. Resourceful!

* Strong project and time management skills.

* Proven ability to develop strong partnerships and influence at all levels of the organization. Must be collegial, with high integrity, and a team player.

* Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions...a problem solver

Starting wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $62K to $72K
