Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking a professional, dedicated individual for a full-time Administrative Assistant position located in the Office of the Sheriff at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters working 37.50 hours per week. Loudoun County is one of the fastest-growing Counties in the Commonwealth of Virginia and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.


Job Summary

This position will be responsible for purchasing activities, coordination of meetings and catering when needed, maintaining senior staff members' calendars, travel arrangements, ordering supplies, directing incoming calls, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and providing service to all visitors to the Office of the Sheriff suite as needed. This position will perform duties for special projects as assigned. This position manages information flow in a timely and accurate manner. This position will serve as a backup to the Executive Assistant for taking minutes at various meetings. This position will also provide clerical and administrative support to the Internal Affairs unit and the three Lieutenant Colonels.

This position is approved for hire after July 1, 2025. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license and good driving record when required for job-related duties. Have or obtain Notary Public certificate within 30 days of hire (if/when required for job-related duties). Must be a US Citizen or current legal resident of the United States for 10 consecutive years. Successful candidate must pass a VCIN/NCIC written examination and become VCIN/NCIC certified within one year of employment.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application, in-person interview(s), and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, criminal background check, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.
