We are actively seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our Total Rewards team. This position will play a vital role in the administration and evaluation of Securian's pay programs including our base pay programs and variable pay programs. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for evaluating market competitiveness and providing analytical support to the Compensation Team on various client group projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide analytical support to the Compensation team and HR Business Partners during annual compensation processes including merit planning, incentive planning, and pay equity analysis.
  • Assist Compensation Consultants on a variety of compensation projects including job evaluations, comprehensive pay analyses, incentive design, etc.
  • Manage the market pricing system and compensation survey participation process. Conduct benchmarking and competitive analyses to ensure our compensation structures and programs are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Partner with HR and technology teams to ensure that HRIS system and compensation software meet the needs of Securian's pay structures and programs.
  • Prepare meaningful reports and training tools to enhance pay insights and enable informed pay decision- making.
  • Evaluate and maintain pay policies to ensure they are compliant with internal and external standards and recommend/ implement revisions, as needed.
  • Stay abreast market trends including new pay trends, regulatory changes, industry trends, and other hot compensation topics.

Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Compensation, Benefits, or HR Analytics (or related discipline)
  • Strong organization skills with a commitment to accuracy and details
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to utilize resources to solve problems
  • Effective skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • General understanding of compensation principles and market pricing fundamentals
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations including FLSA and various pay laws such as minimum wage and pay transparency requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Workday experience helpful, but not required
  • Experience with a market pricing tool such as BetterComp, MarketPay, Pay Factors, or CompAnalyst

Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$56,000.00 - $103,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
