JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Public Health Sciences at the College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence. We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative investigator with deep expertise in Big Data, Advanced Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to contribute to our growing research portfolio in healthcare and medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI, clinical informatics, and healthcare.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on federally funded projects.
  • Lead and support the development of grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Mentor students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty.
  • Engage in team science initiatives across departments and institutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • At least two postdoctoral training experiences focused on applications of AI/ML in healthcare and medicine.
  • A minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications, with demonstrated impact in the fields of clinical informatics and AI.
  • Strong record of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) data, medical imaging, or multi-omics data.
  • Familiarity with NIH or other federal funding mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing health equity or stakeholder-engaged research.
