The Associate Director of Pediatric Imaging Services is responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight for pediatric imaging services enterprise-wide. This leadership role involves developing and implementing standardized practices and protocols to ensure safe and effective pediatric radiology services. The Associate Director collaborates with key stakeholders to drive innovations and align pediatric imaging services with the strategic objectives of the organization.

Patient Population Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide equitable care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge and related competencies of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age, specific needs and to provide the equitable care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Neonates (0-4 weeks) Infant (1-12 months) Pediatrics (1-12 years) Adolescents (13-17 years) Adults (18-64 years) Employment Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Radiation Science (or closely related healthcare program), Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration Graduation from a JRC or JRCNMT accredited program in radiologic technology or nuclear medicine technology or graduation from an accredited RN nursing program Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Radiation Science, Nursing or closely related field Licensure/Certification Required: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (RN). Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) certification through AHRA Minimum Qualifications Years and Type of Required Experience Minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible Radiology supervisory/management positions Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Cultural Responsiveness Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible Radiology supervisory/management positions Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment Previous work experience in developing and implementing new initiative and programs and in process improvement activities Working Conditions Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel. Prolonged periods of working alone.
