Purpose
Support the Site Controller by preparing and distributing financial information to multiple functional management and team members, including Group Controlling, Division Controlling, Operations Controlling, and Functional Controlling (e.g. IT, Purchasing, HR). Complete all costing activities locally.
Salary Range Based on Experience: $78,000 - $112,000.
Core Responsibilities
Site Support
- For matters relating to cost accounting, and inventory control, cost center master data are an interface to Givaudan Financial Services and external auditors
- Support the annual budget process for the site
- Perform a monthly review of the automated accrual proposals for costs related to IM&S for all the site's cost centers
- Ensure proposed accruals are materially correct and booked
- Review all the site contracts managed through SAP X-Apps
- Support Givaudan Finance Services in resolving issues
- You will report to your Managers
Inventory Control
- Monitor and report on inventory control
- Ensure controls are operating and inventory balances are correctly reported for the site (both internal and external inventory)
- Analyze inventory movements
- Support the evaluation and analysis of slow-moving and obsolete stock
- Analyze discards/write-offs. Provide transparency on types of write-off transactions at the site
- Support forecasts of inventory and CDI
Cost Analysis
- Manage annual and periodic requirements of costing activities and analysis of COGS
- Prepare detailed product costing analysis
- Analyze period costs and investigate issues
- Analyze PPV and highlight major changes
- Analyse process order variances and provide transparency on issues/concerns
- Ensure local standards are accurate when compared to actual costs
- Update standards where applicable to reduce variances
Financial Performance Analysis
- Analyse and coordinate activities associated with operations performance on-site
- Prepare monthly Indicators
- Prepare data for the site controller for the regular cost center and investment reviews and follow-ups
- Manage and ensure correct management accounting structure consisting of cost center data, allocation keys, allocation process, contract setup
Financial Analysis.
- Support requirements associated with the month-end financial close
- Review balance sheet and P&L accounts that may require journal entries, accruals/reserves, and reclassification for the site operations
- Analyze the site P&L and identify variances vs. budget, last year, and outlook.
- Support Givaudan Finance Services in the troubleshooting of closing issues
- Support with BOFC input for monthly financial Group reporting
Investment Process
- Support planning and tracking of spending against the capital plan for the site
- Coordinate periodic inventory of fixed assets for the site
- Ensure closure of investment projects and subsequent capitalization of AUC
Academic Background
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
Professional Experience
- 2+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills
- Fluent English, local language
- SAP CO/FI
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of costing processes
Workplace
You will be based in Carol Stream, but it is required to attend to Bedford Park plant 2 or 3 times a month.
