The General Operations Manager - Midlands is responsible for overseeing all assigned branch locations and ensuring efficient and profitable operations that support branch and corporate objectives. Responsibilities
- Contributes to a positive work environment and promote the vision, mission, and values of BMC.
- Model the way for safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors in support of all Blanchard Machinery Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives.
- Partners with Product Support leadership to ensure operational efficiency of all assigned branch locations by establishing an overall long-term strategy, emphasizing customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance of corporate policies; monitor all phases of the department's operations, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with Product Support leadership in developing, monitoring, and managing annual budgets and objectives for branch locations.
- Set annual performance measures, operational plans, and goals for their teams and provide regular feedback on performance progress.
- Establish a culture of professionalism, open interactive team communication with a focus on a high sense of urgency for customers.
- Act as both a mentor and teacher, hiring and developing a staff to bring out your team's very best performance. Success will be measured by your team's ability to achieve strategic business goals.
- Commitment to fully developing the talents of your direct reports and ensuring their long-term success.
- Effectively address short falls and conflict in a timely manner.
- Perform employee evaluations and ensure proper administration of wages and salaries.
- Lead continuous improvement projects across service organization to include technology implementations.
- Identify areas of improvement to achieve and maintain "Gold" standard in the Caterpillar Service Excellence Program.
- Manage PIP/PSP completion.
- Nurture and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
- Resolve customer complaints by taking prompt and appropriate action to maintain excellent customer relations (internal and external).
- Assist sales department with special projects and technical problems when possible.
- Participate in Corporate Training and Development Programs and Steering Committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical field preferred.
- 3 years of related industry experience with a technical aptitude.
- 8+ years in a leadership position focused on operations.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and appreciation of all Product Support functions.
- Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring and people development skills.
- Strategic thinker with excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid business acumen with the ability to oversee the financial operations of the branch.
- Customer centric with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capacity at all levels.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, management, and customers in a positive, professional, and effective way.
- Ability to plan strategically and tieback corporate vision to all decisions.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately to meet departmental goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and self-starter. Able to effectively manage multiple tasks/priorities and adapt to change.
- Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.

Working Conditions
