Painter Operator - Second Shift

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Painter Operator- Second Shift position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

Prepares and paints a wide variety of parts and products according to specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  Able to perform all Painter Trainee job duties independently.

  
  
• 
  

  Quality of work performed results in First Pass Quality with only minimal rework.

  
  
• 
  

  Performs final assembly and packaging of explosion isolation valves.

  
  
• 
  

  Performs internal preparation and coating of Water Mist cylinders

  
  
• 
  

  Cross trains to be proficient at enclosure assembly.

  
  
• 
  

  Prepares and mixes coatings using manual measuring devices, as required.

  
  

Work Enviornment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, stretch, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee is also required to walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or fell; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally employee is exposed to outdoor environmental conditions. The employee is frequently required to stand. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be willing and able to wear protective clothing and gear as needed.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, follow instructions, standard procedures, work orders and engineered drawings. Six months or more of vo-tech or industrial painting experience. Basic math and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to perform Painter Trainee duties. Must obtain Forklift Certification within six months after hire date.

PREFERRED: Six months or more of industrial painting experience.

This position offers an hourly rate ranging from $19 (min) to $22 (mid), dependent on experience and qualifications.
