The Communications Representative will support Knife River's communication strategy and will develop and implement internal and external communications for the organization to ensure that unified, consistent and positive messages define and promote Knife River and our values.
This position is onsite based out of Bismarck, ND or Bend, OR.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
- Minimum of two years' professional work experience in communications.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to promote and positively represent the organization through internal and external communication.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represents the corporate identity and promotes and supports the mission.
- Collaborates with internal clients to understand communications needs and provide messaging and materials necessary to meet those needs.
- Builds meaningful relationships with a variety of third-party marketing and communications experts and draws on their expertise for various projects and needs. Oversees the workflow and work assignments in these areas to ensure effective, consistent, quality work.
- Drafts proposals for special communications projects; presents on and promotes these projects to management.
- Seeks new methods and creative strategies to increase internal and external awareness of key events and changes in the organization.
- Prepares and delivers presentations in the company to share information.
- Prepares and distributes a variety of written communications pieces for various managers.
- Responsible for creative content development for social and digital media.
- Composes draft speeches and written communications for executive leadership team.
- Schedules and develops filming scripts and production.
- Represents the company in a variety of settings, always promoting the company in the best possible way.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
