Senior Database Administrator - Microsoft SQL Server

NetImpact Strategies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure DevOps. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing large-scale database environments supporting complex enterprise applications. This individual will also bring substantial experience in AWS, particularly working with cloud-native database services. The position requires advanced proficiency in SQL query performance tuning, ETL development, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server installation and configuration.

This role will support a broad and complex application portfolio comprising more than 1,000 databases and petabytes of data. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Design, implement, and manage Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and security.

* Develop and maintain complex ETL processes using SSIS to support data integration and migration across systems.

* Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native database solutions in AWS, such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.

* Leverage Azure DevOps pipelines for automated deployments, database versioning, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).

* Tune and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability across large-scale datasets and mission-critical applications.

* Manage installation, configuration, and patching of SQL Server across development, staging, and production environments.

* Administer reporting services using SSRS, including development and maintenance of dashboards and operational reports.

* Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system performance.

* Collaborate with development teams, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure database solutions align with business needs.

* Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server and AWS-hosted databases

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA specializing in Microsoft SQL Server in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in Azure DevOps for database deployment automation and CI/CD.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud-native database services, including RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
• Extensive experience in performance tuning, indexing, execution plan analysis, and optimizing SQL queries.
• Proficiency with SSIS and SSRS in complex data environments.
• Experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, and security best practices.
• Proven success supporting portfolios with 1,000+ databases and petabytes of data.
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or T-SQL.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Preferred:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certifications.
• AWS Certified Database - Specialty or Solutions Architect certifications.
• Experience in data governance, auditing, and compliance within regulated environments.
• Familiarity with NoSQL technologies and hybrid data architectures
• Previous Federal Consulting Experience
