Coordinator, Student Communications - Central Campus Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and distribute engaging content across various platforms (e.g., CRM, portal, marketing software, SMS/Text, digital signage, website).
- Write, edit, and proofread content for clarity, tone, and accuracy, following the College's brand guidelines.
- Create visually appealing content that resonates with a student audience.
- Create communication workflows and schedules and track communications using project management software (e.g., Asana, Hubspot, Jira, etc).
- Manages email campaigns and templates within the CRM.
- Regularly review analytics with the Director, Student Communications to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
- Partner with other departments to ensure consistency and coordination of student messaging across the College.
- Collaborate with other portal owners to create groups and pages.
- Support the creation and maintenance of a student communication plan.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Maintains a current internal documentation repository for student communications.
- Attends campus leadership team meetings and meets regularly with student services.
- Participates in College committees as a member of the Student Services division.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools, including email marketing systems, customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, SMS/text platforms, and content management systems (CMS).
- Familiarity with web design, HTML, and digital accessibility standards.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to meet deadlines.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Creative thinker with an understanding of the student experience in higher education.
- Ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and to develop and complete new projects and programs with little supervision.
- Sound working knowledge of computing systems and software including student database systems, Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Higher Education or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Required Experience:
- Three years student communication experience or related experience in written, digital, and visual media.
- One year Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
Preferred Experience:
- Communication/marketing/public relations experience in Higher education.
- Prior experience with student communications writing.
- Experience with portal and CRM communications.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Lucid Press, Marq, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of SJC organizational practices.
