Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday; full-time shifts

JOB SUMMARY:

The Dispatcher, Transportation will be a reliable Call Taker/Dispatcher to act as a communication point for Non-Emergency calls. You will receive transportation requests, transmit messages, and track vehicles. The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in busy situations. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. The goal is to enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Organizes and dispatches for department 1064 transports for the next day prior to end of shift.
  • Actively reviews completed transports with drivers for accuracy prior to end of shift.
  • Responsible and accountable for completeness and accuracy of driver timestamps and trip completions prior to completion of shift.
  • Responsible for accurate and complete data entry for the shift.
  • Responsible for generating applicable reports and checking for accuracy.
  • Other administrative duties assigned during the shift are delegated by the Transportation Supervisor/Manager.


Relationship Management:



  • The Call Taker/Dispatcher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all customers, vendors, referral agencies, consumers, families and Goodwill of Colorado Rehabilitation and Community Services staff.
  • The individual will also advise the Transportation Manager through formal and informal means, on the overall production operation and in particular, the workflow, and information related to customer demands, quality control problems, material shortages and personnel needs.
  • The individual must also partner with internal customers by communicating changes in direction and accommodate requests for assistance to achieve department goals.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education:



  • A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:



  • 1 - 2 years of previous office or call center providing exceptional customer service.

  • As a Call Taker/Dispatcher, it is crucial that the dispatch phone is always monitored. Each client who calls our phones must feel welcomed and treated with professionalism. Therefore, applicants must be detail orientated, be able to multi-task with excellent time management skills, have a positive attitude with excellent customer service skills, and the ability to think on your feet and discern what is in the best interest of the client and company.
  • Dispatchers will need to be able to communicate and work efficiently with many different people and personalities, including people with disabilities.
  • Relaying information in a professional and efficient manner is the primary duty of the Dispatcher. Therefore, it is important that the Dispatcher learns and understands the use of a multi-line phone system, basic administrative and computer skills, excellent communication skills, and has a pleasant and outgoing personality.
  • Self-confident and positive applicants with exceptional multitasking experience who enjoy working with the public and would like to assist in improving the efficiency of our department will excel in this position.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
