Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our Woodbury Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting our psychiatric services. You will collaborate closely with psychiatric nurses and providers to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care. Your medical knowledge, combined with a compassionate approach, will help create a safe and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compassionate Care: Deliver care in a respectful and sensitive manner, honoring the developmental stages and diverse backgrounds of each patient and their family.

  • Information Management: Track and communicate essential medical and psychiatric information through both verbal and written documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Clinical Interventions: Carry out a variety of clinical tasks as assigned by physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, and LPNs, including EKGs, venipunctures, and administering medications.

  • Patient Call Handling: Screen and manage incoming patient calls, addressing their needs directly or directing them to the appropriate clinic nursing support team member.

  • Task Management: Monitor and respond to requests in the task management system, ensuring communication is timely and effective.

  • De-escalation Skills: Employ de-escalation techniques as necessary to maintain a calm and supportive environment.

  • Medication Assistance: Help with medication refills, insurance pre-authorizations, and managing laboratory supplies to ensure smooth operations.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with an interdisciplinary team, seeking guidance and providing feedback to ensure safe and effective patient care.


Qualifications

  • Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Completion of a Medical Assistant or LPN program is required.
    • For LPN candidates, MN LPN licensure is required.
    • Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA preferred.

    Pay range for the MA position is $22.06 to $28.84 depending on education and experience.

    Pay range for the LPN position is $25 to $31.73 depending on education and experience.
