Job Description

NetImpact Strategies is looking for a DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in building and supporting automated CI/CD pipelines for .NET, Java, and Node.js applications. This role involves supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of DevOps pipelines and infrastructure using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Puppet, and SonarQube.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with a passion for automation, infrastructure as code, and continuous improvement in delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

    Support the development, maintenance, and monitoring of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and SonarQube.
  • Implement infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and assist in configuration management with Puppet.
  • Contribute to integrating automated testing and code quality tools into build pipelines.
  • Package application artifacts and manage deployments to development and test environments.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth and reliable releases.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline issues and resolve build and deployment failures.
  • Document DevOps procedures and contribute to operational playbooks and runbooks.

  • IaC & Config Management: Terraform, Puppet
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (basic exposure)
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana (basic understanding)
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS or Azure (preferred experience in Gov environments)

  • Testing: MSTest, NUnit
  • Build: MSBuild
  • Packaging: NuGet, .zip
  • Deploy: IIS, Web Deploy

.NET Core / .NET 6+

  • Testing: xUnit, MSTest
  • Build: dotnet build
  • Packaging: Docker, NuGet
  • Deploy: Azure Pipelines, IIS

Java

  • Testing: JUnit
  • Build: Maven
  • Packaging: .jar, .war
  • Deploy: Tomcat, OpenShift (basic)

Node.js

  • Testing: Mocha, Jest
  • Build: npm, webpack
  • Packaging: Docker, npm
  • Deploy: PM2, NGINX


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant DevOps or infrastructure automation experience
  • Proficiency with Jenkins and version control systems (Git)
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Puppet
  • Basic knowledge of software build processes and application packaging
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Preferred

  • Experience supporting .NET and Java applications in a federal environment
  • Exposure to Agile and DevSecOps delivery methodologies
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Terraform Associate, AWS/Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+)
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or similar federal compliance frameworks
  • Previous Federal Consulting Experience
