Director, Project Management, Card Risk Chief of Staff

Capital One's Card Risk organization serves a critical role in helping the organization to identify, mitigate, and manage risks. The members of the Card Risk organization serve as strategic advisors to the lines of business - helping them to remain well-managed and supporting their continued growth, innovation, and success.

As a Director on the Chief of Staff team, you will be a key member of the Card Risk Senior Leadership Team, taking over many responsibilities and making them your own. This role is a critical position supporting senior leadership, enabling leaders to execute strategic work while ensuring operational rigor. You will be accountable for associate experiences, team operations, budget and capacity management, and other strategic initiatives, and will have the opportunity to work with many diverse areas of the business.

General Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership: Serve as a strategic thought partner for senior leadership and act as a central point of contact between the leadership team and other key partners.

  • Team Operations: Partner with senior leadership to develop recommendations and implement decisions on organizational design, culture and talent strategies, operating rhythms and routines, and strategic planning.

  • People leadership: Manage and develop multiple associates.Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One.

  • Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues throughout the Card Risk organization and across Capital One including: HR, communications, finance, business segments, and enterprise partners.

  • Project Management: Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex, dynamic environment. Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments.

  • Problem solving: Understand the organization's strategy and vision so that they can lean in to complex problems and influence as necessary.

  • Strong executive communication skills: Develop communications strategies, presentations, and other materials for a variety of audiences, including senior executives.

  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 6 years of experience in analysis, consulting, or project management

  • At least 3 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in analysis, consulting, or project management

  • 4+ years of people management experience

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Project Management Richmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
