Position Summary The college of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate to teach as a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of English with a specialty in Composition & Rhetoric or related field and to serve as Writing Program Director. Full-time, tenure-track, 9-month. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start date is August 2025. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Service, Scholarship, 3/3 teaching load which reflects a reduction of 1 course per semester to direct the First-Year Writing program.
- Coordinate the minor in Technical and Professional Communication.
- Teaching assignments will include upper- and lower-division as well as graduate-level courses in writing and rhetoric, including Pedagogy of College Writing, Visual Rhetoric, Grant Writing, and similar courses. Courses may be offered in-person, hybrid, or online, as assigned to meet student needs.
- The candidate is expected to provide training for writing program faculty.
- Mentor graduate students in the composition program.
- Maintain an active and productive research agenda.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Composition/Rhetoric or English required.
- Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background in and experience with writing instruction, including online and hybrid formats
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
