Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Integrated Mental Health Services, the Mental Health Provider will provide Behavioral Health and Counseling services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students. This position will have primary clinical responsibilities split between two main areas of Integrated Health. One aspect of the position will be serving as a member of our Behavioral Health Provider team. The other will be in providing Eating Disorder Services within the Mental Health Service department. Provision of Eating Disorder services will include a combination of brief counseling, group therapy, Eating Disorder assessments, and possibly care management services.

The Mental Health Provider performs the following:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES (60-65%):
1) Provides Behavioral Health services in collaboration and consultation with Medical Services
2) Provides Eating Disorder services within Mental Health Services and in collaboration with an integrated Mental Health/Medical team
3) Participates in the provision of clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during business hours)
4) Provides campus-based services/outreach including programming and consultation
5) Responds to campus crises

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR DIRECT CLINICAL SERVICES MAY INCLUDE:
1) Provides additional individual and group services within the Integrated Service area, which includes Wellness Services, TGD Services, and other integrated service areas.
2) Provides supervision of assigned trainees including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary action in accordance with training policy and procedures.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (35-40%):
1) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations
2) Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services at MHS
3) Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners
4) Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA
5) Attends staff, team, and workgroup meetings as assigned
6) Attends Mental Health sponsored professional development activities
7) Serves on internal and external committees
8) Other duties as assigned


Responsibilities:
Provides direct clinical services to patients and clients in a clinical, research, education, or public health and safety setting. Engages in the full range of psychological services including assessment (psycho-diagnostic and psychological assessment services), evaluation, consultation and/or psychotherapy to promote the mental health and well-being of patients.

  • 10% Performs patient psycho-diagnostic, psychological assessments and evaluations
  • 10% Identifies patient psychological disorders and emotional patterns to understand and predict behavior
  • 5% Assesses safety risks and develops safety plans for at-risk individuals
  • 50% Develops, implements, and monitors individual and group psychological treatment programs with clinical staff and physicians
  • 20% Completes clinical treatment reports in accordance with department and agency guidelines
  • 5% May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
Doctoral degree in clinical psychology.


Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
1) 1+ years' experience in a mental health setting.

STRONGLY PREFERRED:
1)Experience working in an interdisciplinary college mental health treatment setting
2)Experience in provision of Primary Care Behavioral Health Services or other integrated services within a health care setting
3)Experience in the provision of eating disorder services
4)Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment
5)Experience providing group therapy
6)Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and provision of outreach
7)Experience with electronic health record systems
8)Demonstrated attentiveness to addressing health disparities
9)Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams including medical providers and/or academic faculty and staff


License/Certification:

Required
PSY - Psychologist - State Licensure
Must be licensed, license eligible, or be able to obtain a license to practice independently in the state of Wisconsin within one year of hire.
