The Medical Affairs Consultant-Research Science Liaison (RSL) will serve as the Syneos Health medical affairs representative in support of clinical trials. The Research Science Liaison will establish and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders and investigators to create advocacy and foster awareness. The RSL will collaborate with clinical operations for study start up, feasibility, and post-activation activities to ensure rapid patient enrollment and optimize study completion. The RSL will also support the Medical Affairs Consulting group projects on an as needed basis.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Identify, build, and maintain professional and credible relationships with thought leaders and investigators in academic and clinical research practices.
* Provide scientific and technical support for thought leaders and academic centers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on products and areas of therapeutic interest.
* Act as the primary liaison to potential and current investigators in company-sponsored clinical trials.
* Leverage opportunities with key thought leaders and investigators to generate meaningful and actionable medical insights to inform the client on key information that will allow for critical strategic decisions.
* Demonstrate strong strategic thinking and geographic tactical management skills in building and executing research support.
* Collaborate with the clinical operations organization to enhance patient enrollment in company-sponsored clinical trials by identifying appropriate clinical trial sites and interacting with investigators in ongoing studies.
* Develop awareness and understanding of the competitive landscape, clinical strategies, and other developments relevant to products under development.
* Provide insight to the clinical team and sponsor into clinical trial site performance through site efficiency metrics and develop appropriate strategy/action plan to address any site performance concerns.
* Attend relevant internal and client study team meetings and provide medical affairs perspective as relevant to support clinical trial execution.
* Draft discussion guides and develop content slides for use during external stakeholder outreach or to support other Medical Affairs Consulting client projects.
* Foster accountability via documentation of engagements and by providing consistent updates to the team that can drive strategic decision making.
* Ensure all activities and interactions are compliant with all applicable local, global, and national laws; regulations; guidelines; code of conduct; company policies; and SOPs.
* Support the Medical Affairs Consulting team in new or ongoing client projects on an as needed basis including but not limited to creating high quality client deliverables, superior slide content development, performing external stakeholder engagements, and project management tasks.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Travel may be required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
* Advanced Degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD, PA, NP).
* Previous field medical (MSL or related) experience preferred.
* Strong PC experience and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, specifically a mastery of both Excel and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrates a combination of analytical, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively conduct virtual engagements with relevant investigators and key external experts to communicate key clinical and scientific information and identify/capture strategic insights.
* Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and excellent skills to build relationships with key stakeholders.
* Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures and to scientific quality and integrity.
* Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity, and trust-building behaviors in all dealings are essential and required.
* High degree of professionalism and excellent customer service orientation.
* Ability to multitask with limited direction while working under tight deadlines.
* Demonstrates a positive and service-oriented attitude.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
* Self-motivated, with initiative and ability to take ownership of, and follow through with, specific tasks.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the position will interface with key opinion leaders and clients.
* Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and deliver an excellent work product in a fast-paced and rapidly growing dynamic company.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $130,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
