The position of Mill Operator is required to operate and maintain the horizontal processing mills used in the manufacturing of architectural and industrial colorants. The Mill Operator position exists to ensure products are processed to meet customer specifications, in doing so, equipment has to be cleaned, maintained and monitored by the operator.

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 3:00p.m - 11:00p.m

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors



  • Manually clean mill and all component parts related to breakdown and assembly.
  • Manually start assigned batch on mill, monitor and record designated parameters following batch specific requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues/problems with horizontal mill if/when necessary.
  • Tank cleaning and selection appropriate to batch size. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Maintain all related mill log sheets for individual batches.
  • Maintain mill maintenance records for daily inspections.
  • Perform mill displacement and media check. Complete documentation.
  • Operate high-speed mixers for the purpose of mixing batches.
  • Follow all E,H&S regulations and guidelines, including active participation in Behavioral Observations and other safety programs.
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Duties:
  • Inspects and maintains site-generated hazardous waste satellite and 90 day areas to ensure compliance with EPA standards and in accordance with provided training.
  • Ensures proper management and labeling of containers
  • Assists the transfer of site-generated hazardous waste to on-site staging areas
  • Receives annual hazardous waste training and universal waste training


Minimum Requirements:



  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Have at least two (2) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating mobile power equipment such as lift trucks, tow motors or pallet handling equipment, order pickers, high lifts, forklifts, or cherry pickers
