GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Vice President of Planning & Strategy, the Director has primary responsibility for strategic growth assessments, business planning and pro forma support, and for overseeing Certificate of Need compliance, applications, and advocacy at the state of Michigan level for the clinical delivery system. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Advisory: The Director will be assigned to select HFH business units as their Strategic Advisor such that the Director may proactively maintain alignment between the strategies of the enterprise and the business unit(s).
- Leadership & Activation: The Director will lead multiple large-scale and complex strategic initiatives ("internal" consulting engagements") with minimal supervision.
- Multi-Disciplinary Planning: The Director supports overall system strategy by leading our collaboration with other relative functions, including Finance, IT, Transformation Office, Enterprise Analytics, Service Line and Market leaders.
- People Management: The Director will oversee a team of analysts and managers with a focus on their development and engagement.
- Subject Matter Expertise: The Director will develop and maintain content & technical expertise in multiple subject matter areas applicable to the enterprise and the assigned business unit(s).
- Analytics: The Director will collaborate with our team members and Enterprise Analytics to develop and enhance our methodologies and data sets for conducting strategic evaluations, such as payer claims, EMR, and other external solutions.
- Service Line, Specialty, and Tertiary Growth Evaluations: The Director will ensure that HFH evaluates and pursues growth opportunities in alignment with its strategy.
- Business Planning: The Director works collaboratively with other departments including Finance and Clinical leaders to support business-planning activities for the clinical delivery system.
- Certificate of Need. The Director supports compliance with the MDCH CON program for HFH entities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 8 or more years' experience working in healthcare strategy for organizations such as health systems, provider groups, health plans, and/or external consulting organizations.
- 4-6 years progressively more responsible experience leading teams and managing people.
- Technical expertise in at least 4 of the following disciplines is required: service line strategy, facility and network planning, physician integration, value-based care, mergers & acquisition, access & consumer experience, and digital & virtual health.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills and be guided by a compelling "client/customer" orientation.
- Experience with managing large, complex projects.
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving and interpersonal/relationship building skills are required.
- Computer skills are essential and include word, excel, PowerPoint, mapping, and other relevant software packages.
- Ability to take complex analysis and visualize the analysis in presentation or other formats for the audience to understand.
- Ability to create summary presentations and exhibit excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration or related field, required.
- Master's degree strongly preferred
