The Accounting Clerk responsibilities include working closely with internal and external stakeholders to perform complex accounting assignments while tracking project related costs and assisting in the preparation of financial records. This position requires work performed in a dynamic, diverse, and fast- paced team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of accounting and administrative tasks for multiple companies and projects.
  • Provides support for clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping functions.
  • Assist with data entry in AR and AP and updating of spreadsheets per project.
  • Responsible for IDIQ project billing and subcontractors' communications and reporting
  • Assist with sub-contractor follow-up for projects as assigned on timesheet errors, submission errors, communicates corrections needed and any additional subcontractor required documentation and forms.
  • Communicates any challenges related to processes in rebuild and I-supplier to help maintain efficiency of flow. Assigns task in Asana for assist in workflow and efficiency.
  • Provides monthly financial analysis report on issues, errors and processes as it relates to IDIQ billing and cashflow trends
  • Collects and uploads blanket releases in E-comply weekly.
  • Prepares monthly compliance reporting for specific teams as assigned after month end closings.
  • Research, compiles and summarizes information for reports or presentations as assigned.
  • Compiles information for various monthly cost analysis reports per project as assigned.
  • Cross train with other accounting team functions providing backup, as necessary.
  • Maintains physical and digital filing systems.
  • Responds timely to and resolves accounting and clerical inquiries and questions.
  • Handle office administration tasks, set up for meetings and email communications
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations and administrative teams to gather pertinent project related information.
  • Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
  • Cross train with other Accounting Team functions providing backup, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned as needed.
Position Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • General working knowledge of CMIC and/or construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in project accounting, with a focus on billing and invoicing, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS and project accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of City/State/federal funded projects and compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulatory standards in the construction industry.
Physical Demands:
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 15 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
